ACC Mandate and Goals
- To identify and respond to the social, cultural, and economic needs of the communities of the Ausable;
- To design and develop programs and services to respond to these needs;
- To promote growth to ensure economic sustainability;
- To promote harmony, creativity, and cooperation amongst the primary community partners;
- To work pro-actively with the community, funders, and service providers to ensure that residents of the area have the education, employment, and related human and social services that they require;
- To engage in ongoing community needs analysis;
- To coordinate, deliver, and/or refer individuals to a wide range of government and community services;
- To encourage youth to become the leaders of tomorrow;
* To promote the community as a vibrant, healthy, attractive and welcoming community.
Recent Achievements
2009 Successful application to the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program to run a Senior’s Lifestyle Trade Show in the early fall of 2010.
Increased visibility in community based initiatives including the first Lucan Biddulph Trade Show, hosting of July 1st ‘Jammin in July’ Seniors music event, hosting of Business breakfast session, participation in the Economic Development breakfasts and a well-received fundraising initiative- ACC’s first annual ‘Festival of Trees’ event
Completion of $20000.00 (raised by fundraising) in renovations to the facility at 183 Main Street, owned by the Ausable Community Centre non-profit organization
2009 Successful application to the SWODP funding project to hire an intern to develop the Centre’s website and produce a training manual and workshop for businesses and non-profits on the steps taken to develop this website. Intern has been hired and is proceeding with first milestone of website development.

The advertisement in the August Edition of the Community News for Social Dance Lessons with Bob and Mary incorrectly stated the cost of the classes as $6.00, it should have read $60.00.
Calling all youth
Here at the Ausable Community Centre we are looking to open a Youth centre, where youth can come in and use our services. Have fun by playing games and other fun activities.
We are looking for 8 youth to become part of a Youth Committee that will become the voice of youth in our town.
We also take part in the Canada Day celebration every year and we are looking for volunteers to assist with the children's games.
