The Employment Resource Centre provides:

  • FREE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES (Job Searches, Job Advertising, Job Referrals, Career Counselling)
  • FREE PUBLIC ACCESS to fifteen on-line computers for the purpose of Internet job searches, resume and cover letter writing, software skills upgrading, or other employment preparation use
  • Double-sided photocopier, laser printer, 11x17" colour printer, scanner, telephone and fax machine for public use
  • Application Forms for Employment Insurance, Record of Employment, Income Security Programs, Old Age Security, UPSocial Insurance Numbers, Birth Certificates,  and other related documents
  • Information Brochures and Pamphlets from government departments and the private sector
  • Your choice of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation graphics programs of Microsoft Office, Corel Word Perfect Suite, and Lotus SmartSuite, plus Corel Draw graphics application, learn-to-type software, and WinWay Resume program
  • Rental of computer lab or meeting room equipped with large table, TV (with laptop computer hook-up), VCR, overhead projector, white board, and flip chart for in-house presentations and workshops
  • Hands-on computer courses and training workshops offered several times throughout the year
  • Small Business information, advice, and referrals for aspiring entrepreneurs
  • Course Calendars from most universities and colleges in Ontario, plus free literature and advice on how to succeed at college or university
  • Free Information Sessions on How To Get A Job (career exploration, resume creation, cover letter writing, interview techniques, and job search advice)
  • Access to Distance Education & Training courses to upgrade your skills and promote career development
